How can I change in 2020?

Happy 2020! I haven't blogged in a while, but I've been making an effort to create this blog for about a week and it's finally done. So it's 2020 and I have no resolution. Well, I do, but they aren't really new year's resolutions. Everyday I try and work on myself, but that's just what I do. As a Christian everyday is a brand new day that I can change and make a difference. The other thing I'm doing is 20 for 20. This year one of my teachers said he was going to do 20 for 20 and asked that we do it with him. I decided to do this challenge where everyday for 20 weeks for 20 minutes a day you do something you wouldn't normally do. Well I've decided to edit this challenge and ask that anyone who wishes, to join me. I want to not label this challenge as all or nothing, I want to say that missing a day is fine, so long as by the end of 2020 you have done it 140 days of the year. Personally I've probably only done it 5 out of the 18 days so far. I use the 20 minutes for so many different things. The main things are this blog, working on writing a novel, doing something creative, or reading the Bible. One thing I really prefer to do is write goals, but I have not stuck with any of them. So I'm trying to move into weekly goals, but I'm getting the same result. One thing I haven't done is first off had a goal writing session, and second I haven't prayed about them, which is probably why I haven't achieved anything. Every year I look at myself and am surprised by how my life has changed throughout a whole year, I've gone from having painful eye issues last year at this time, to having a lot of knee pain and having slight visual problems sometimes. It's amazing how much a person can change in one year, which is why I feel like I could turn something in my life around with the help and blessing of God in one year.

God has bigger plans than I could ever imagine or know, and that's why we need to pray to Him about what our goals should be this year. I can't imagine going through decisions about big things in my life without prayer, so why should I try and face goal setting without Him? I shouldn't and nor should anybody, because a goal can't be accomplished without His blessing. That's why I can achieve things that focus on Him, but goals that don't involve reading or learning about Him, have all failed.

Here is a prayer that I made for goal-planning:

Lord, You know that I'm wanting to make plans for my life, You know each battle I'm going to face and how to prepare me for it. Lord, I pray that You would help me to build a plan for the future. I pray that You would let my dreams be Your dreams. I know that without Your help, nothing will be accomplished, so I pray that You would bless this goal-planning session with Your goals for me, so that my goals and dreams would align with Your goals and dreams for me. Thank You for allowing me each breath, and since You allow me each breath, You know what will be accomplished in my life. Help me, Lord to pursue all that You wish me to. In Your gracious and loving name, Amen.
