See You at the Pole

This past Wednesday was See You at the Pole day, in which Christians at school stand around the flag pole at schools across America and pray. The participation at my school was outstanding. Some people that I never expected to be there, were there. Even though I never spoke my prayers out loud I know the Lord heard every prayer that was thought and said that morning and He must have been smiling with the amount of participation. I find it extremely important that we, as Christians, participate in this, because it is a stand for God and I don't want to regret not standing up for my beliefs. Every chance I get I am going to stand for God.

I want to be for the one who saves me, so why stand with the world that doesn't believe in the Creator? There is no point in standing with the devil, it only brings you down. I don't want to regret not acting for the Lord, because what if today is my last day? I want to make every second count, because in the end if I don't make it count, what will I say when I stand in judgement? I won't have a response, because no excuse will make a difference to the Creator. Any breath can be my last, so I want to stand for Him. Every chance I get I want to proclaim Him loud and proud, no matter the consequences.

There's a reason why See You at the Pole doesn't have all Christians there, they aren't willing to give up control of their social situation to the Savior. Standing out there proclaims your faith and automatically states your social status as a Christian. So what's your social status? Is it Christian or worldly? I want to be the Christian, I want to feel and share the love of Christ, I want to pursue Him.

See You at the Pole, to me, says that you stand with Him and care about those around you. It means that you're willing to step out in faith and say yes, He is Lord and nobody's opinion matters, because aren't we all just nobodies in the grand scheme of things. What we do can bring people to Christ, but we are just the vessels, what matters is what's inside of us. What's inside us is the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit can battle anything including the deepest fears we have, which is what it did for me that morning. It was my first See You at the Pole, and I felt scared at first, but I kept asking for Him to take my fear and He did. It's unbelievable how easily He can use us if we just let our guard down. We are so used to controlling every aspect of our lives, but then He comes and says to let Him handle it and if we let Him it has a big impact, but if we fight it and don't do it, we give the devil a foothold. I've let the devil have my foot for years, but now I want God to have all of me for His purpose. I believe that One moment, can have One choice, that can lead to One lifestyle. So are you building His kingdom, or your own?
